ich lese immer wieder bei Herstellern das Stichwort "Citrix Ready" oder "VMWare Ready". Wir haben XEN Server im Einsatz, allerdings haben meine Recherchen bisher nicht wirklich aussagekräftige Inhalte geliefert die meine Frage beantworten.
Offizielle Aussage von Citrix: The Citrix Ready program showcases verified products that are trusted to enhance Citrix cloud solutions for mobility, virtualization, networking and cloud platforms.
Aber was bedeutet das nun genau?
Mich interessiert im Endeffekt was sich hinter dieser Herstellerzertifizierung befindet bzw. welche Vorteile man dadurch hat.

Im Endeffekt nur, das Citrix bzw. VM-Ware sagt.
Wenn du diesen Server mit unserem Produkt verwendest, dann wird's auch funktionieren.
VM-Ware ist z.B. relativ empfindlich was Raid Controller angeht.

die Aussage ist - wie @wiesi200 sagt - ein Gütesiegel. Sprich, e.g. der Server Hersteller schickt VMware ein Testsystem mit der bitte zur Zertifizierung, und wenn VMware sagt "Jawohl, dieser Server funktioniert mit unserer (zum Test aktuellen) Software" dann kommt der "VMware Ready"-Aufkleber drauf.
Und was bringt das dir? Das etwa VMware in dem Fall - wenn du Probleme hast - dir auch bei der Hardware hilft und nicht sagt "System kennen wir nicht, also kein Support".
Im Endeffekt garantiert dir das Siegel dass mindestens die zum Testzeitpunkt aktuelle Software von Xen oder VMware oder wem auch immer einwandfrei laufen wird.
