Thanks to Eric Weston at https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/keyboard-not-working-on-windows-10- ... who mentioned the Microsoft update and the guys at Microsoft who will hopefully cope with the issue.

Danke,

Fuer die Home ist das hier interessant. Gilt natuerlich auch fuer die Pro.

Here's how you remove this update if you don't have the ability to remote into the computer:
Turn the computer off, and as soon as the vendor logo disappears, hold the power button down until it powers off.
Do this twice, on the third boot up, it should say "Preparing automatic repair" if it doesn't, you're powering off a bit too soon. Try again until you see that message, followd by "Diagnosing your PC"
Click "Advanced Options" to enter enter recovery console
Once you see the blue screen, you need to launch a CMD prompt. When you get to the CMD prompt, type the following:
wusa /uninstall /kb:4074588
