To stop the boot sequence and enter the Boot Mode of the AT-85xx switches, please press <CTRL>B at startup, when the below message appears.

Once entered in the Boot Mode a prompt (“=>”) will be displayed along with the below messages:

The character sequence not in brackets (for example “do” of “do(wnload)”) is mandatory for the command to run.

Due to various reasons (hardware problem, corrupted flash/image file), switch may enter a boot lockup state and upgrade may fix it.

Note: Allied Telesis does not recommend initiating the tests in the boot menu unless you are a certified ATI engineer.

From the boot menu you can easily upgrade the software or reset the configuration of the switch
