X11: Auflösung gedeckelt auf 800x600

Hallo,

es geht um die Videoausgabe unter AlmaLinux 9 mit Kernel 5.14.0-70.22.1.el9_0.x86_64.

Als Rechner wird ein Gigabyte GB-BMCE-5105 verwendet (https://www.gigabyte.com/de/Mini-PcBarebone/GB-BMCE-5105-rev-10), d.h. eine Jasper Lake CPU, konkret N5105.

Ein FullHD-Touch-Display ist über HDMI verbunden.

Problem: Anfangs startete der X-Server, jedoch nur mit 800x600 und es ließ sich keine höhere Auflösung wählen. Jetzt startet er gar nicht mehr.

Hier wundere ich mich, da ich eigentlich vermutete, dass es das Kernel-Modul "intel" braucht.

Grundsätzlich funktioniert die Hardware unter Linux. Konkret hat es mit Ubuntu 22.04 auf Anhieb Plug&Play funktioniert. Vorgabe bei diesem Projekt ist jedoch RHEL 9 bzw. Alma oder Rocky 9.

Meine X-Server-Kenntnisse tendieren leider gegen Null.

Weder kann ich Empfehlungen verschiedener HowTos zur temporären Vergabe einer Auflösung über xrandr folgen ("Can't open display."), noch klappt der Start, wenn ich eine statische Konfiguration im Verzeichnis /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ anlege.

Hat jemand einen Tipp für einen ersten Schritt, um systematisch weiter zu kommen?

Hab leider keinen physischen Zugriff auf das Gerät und kann nicht remote neu installieren.

Kennt sich jemand aus und kann sagen, ob sich der genannte Kernel und die Jasper Lake GPU vertragen?

Wie kann man von i915 auf intel wechseln?

I915 ist Intel. Wenn er das Modul automatisch läd ist das schon passend.

Im Prinzip sollte man die Konfiguration mit einer "Dummy"-Auflösung einstellen.

modprobe scheiterte.

Laden des Treibers über force-Option hat das Problem gelöst - läuft stabil.
