Proxmox - Backup in Samba Share sichern

Hallo,
ich betreibe einen Virtualisierungsserver auf Basis von Proxmox. (RAID1 2x2TB WD Red)
Um die VMs sichern zu können, habe ich eine NAS erworben. Diese unterstützt nur das SMB-Protokoll.
Ich habe im Netz bereits gesucht und heraus gefunden, dass ich den SMB-Share im Dateisystem von Proxmox einhängen muss um darauf zugreifen zu können.
Dies habe ich gemacht und das eingehängte Verzeichnis als "Directory" als Backup-Storage in der Weboberfläche hinterlegt.
Wenn ich ein Backup ausführe und auf der NAS sichern möchte bricht selbiges mit folgender Meldung ab (Es werden Daten auf die NAS kopiert, jedoch sind diese nicht das gesamte Backup):

Lokale Backups sind jedoch ohne Fehler möglich und Proxmox ist Up-to-date.

Woran könnte es liegen? Und welche Möglichkeit habe ich (ohne weitere Kosten zu verursachen), dieses Problem zu lösen?

Bis jetzt haben sich den Post nur sehr wenige angesehen... habe ich das Thema eventuell im falschen Unterforum gepostet?
Falls ja -> Sorry!
Hat keiner eine Idee?... Ich verzweifle hier langsam ;) ... Ich suche jetzt schon die ganze Zeit nach sinnvollen Möglichkeiten und auch nach Alternativen Bare Metal Backup Lösungen. Ich finde nur leider keine. :/ Samba per NFS in einer VM freigeben scheitert leider daran, dass es mit NFS nicht möglich ist einen Samba Share freizugeben.

ich denke Proxmox ist recht selten, daher gibt es kaum jemand, der dir dabei helfen kann. Ich habe mit Proxmox vor ein paar Tagen mal angeschaut.
Benutzt Du den "local"-Storage oder einen anderen Storage-Server (z.B. per iSCSI, NFS etc.).

Letztendlich ist es ein Debian mit einer KVM. Wenn du eine Subscription hast, kannst du natürlich den Support kontakten. Die Preise dazu sind nicht sehr hoch. Wie auch immer, da es ein Debian ist würde ich einen anderen Weg vorschlagen. Stellen unter der normalen Linux-Bash (du kannst dich einfach mit "root" und Deinem Passwort per SSH anmelden) einen festen SMB Mount mit Deinem Backup Server her und synchronisiere z.B. per "rsync" einfach die die Daten. Dann noch einen Cronjob dazu erstellen und fertig ist dein Backup. Die Daten werden bei Proxmox "local" unter /var/lib/vz abgespeichert.

Um die VMs sichern zu können, habe ich eine NAS erworben. Diese unterstützt nur das SMB-Protokoll.

Besser wäre es, wenn du Dir z.B. ein NAS mit iSCSI oder NFS Support gekauft hättest. Dann könntest du per Proxmox (oder jeder anderen Virtualisierungslösung) diesen Speicher einbinden, direkt darauf speichern und dann dessen Backupfunktionalität nutzen. Ich habe z.B. ein Qnap NAS, damit funktioniert das alles ohne Probleme. Die sind zwar ein wenig teurer, als die vom üblichen MMarkt, aber dafür gibt es kaum Probleme.

Was hast du denn für ein NAS genau gekauft? Du bekommst ja einen "Timeout". Evtl packt es das neuen NAS nicht, die Größe der VM zu speichern. Wie ist denn das NAS formatiert? Kann man im NAS Timeout Zeiten ändern?

Wenn die 1020054732800 Bytes sind, wären das umgerechnet 950 GB.
Wenn die 1020054732800 Bits sind, wären das 118.75 GB

Schafft das Dein NAS?

seit Oktober letzten Jahres gibt es offenbar ein generelles Proxmox Problem mit dem Backup auf gemountete CFIS Shares.
Das Proxmox Forum (forum.proxmox.com) ist voll mit Posts zu dem Thema.

Leider hat niemand eine sinnvolle Lösung (zumindest habe ich keine gefunden).
Das einzige was zu helfen scheint ist ein Kernel Downdate.
Mit NFS kann ich einen meiner Server backupen. Leider habe ich diese Möglichkeit nicht bei anderen Maschinen, weshalb ich auch verzweifelt nach einer wirklichen Lösung suche. Downdaten ist keine, da die Maschinen produktiv sind...

In Deinem Fall könntest Du es ja mal mit einer älteren Proxmox Version versuchen (vor Oktober 2013, ich glaube das war die Version 3.0).

Hallo, danke für die mittlerweile zahlreichen Antworten!
Ich habe mittlerweile meine NAS dazu gebracht NFS zu "sprechen". ;) (Konfiguriert als 2x2TB WD Red - RAID 1)
Dadurch wird ein Backup auf die NAS möglich.
Um dieses auch wiederherstellen zu können musste ich das RAW-Dateiformat für die HDDs der VMs wählen, da bei allen anderen kein Recover möglich ist. (Task Error - got timeout)
Jetzt stellt sich mir nur noch eine Frage:
Kann ich davon ausgehen, wenn ich das Backup im Snapshot Mode nachts durchlaufen lasse, dass die Daten konsistent gesichert werden?
(Ich betreibe eine FreeNAS VM inkl. ZFS und Verschlüsselung als File-Server)

hmm, Snapshots funktionieren meines Wissens nur mit dem QCOW2 Format? Funktioniert dann der Snapshot-Mode trotzdem bei Dir?

Hi Freddy,

der Thread ist ja nun doch schon etwas älter und ich hoffe ich kann dir trotzdem noch helfen.
Wie eSpezi schreibt ist ein Kernel downgrade momentan die einzige Lösung die zu funktionieren scheint. Denn auch in der aktuellsten Version von Proxmox sind Backups auf Samba Freigaben bei mir nicht möglich. (Stand: 12.08.2014)
Die Kernel Version die bei mir funktioniert ist die pve-kernel-2.6.32-23. Ich kann jetzt ohne Probleme auf meinen Samba Share sichern und zurückspielen.
Wenn ein Downgrade bei dir eine Option ist und nicht für mehr Probleme als davor sorgt kannst du es ja mal ausprobieren.
