VPN Zugang zu CISCO-Zugang schlägt fehl
Hallo
Ich versuche gerade von meinem virtuellen XUBUNTU 14.04 (falls von Belang: läuft in Virtualbox) auf einen Cisco-Router-VPN-Zugang zu connecten.
Der Zugang ist analog den Settings zu einem funktionierenden Windows7 angelegt, doch nach einigem Gerödel passiert original nix.

So wie es mir scheint findet er kein Device ppp0? Sehe ich das richtig? Wie kann ich das beheben?
Oder liegt es an etwas anderem?

Denn in deinem Log kommen keine Antworten auf die Config-Requests und die gehen nun mal über GRE, und das muss eben in den Firewalls erlaubt werden!

LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests
das sieht eindeutig nach einem Firewall-Problem entweder deines Linux oder deines Routers aus. In den Firewalls muss das GRE Protokoll (47) freigeschaltet sein. Auf Routern wird das gerne PPTP Passthrough genannt. Unter Linux findet sich das in den Firewall GUIs meist unter NAT Helpers PPTP/GREDenn in deinem Log kommen keine Antworten auf die Config-Requests und die gehen nun mal über GRE, und das muss eben in den Firewalls erlaubt werden!
