Windows XP: ACPI BIOS Error im Event Viewer
ACPI BIOS is attempting to create an illegal memory OpRegion
Ich denke es wird noch andere treffen.
Ich habe ein Epox EP-8KTA3+ Board und einen 700 Mhz Duron.
Nach der erfolgreichen Installation von WindowsXP erscheint im Event Viewer unter System ein Error Eintrag mit dem Text:
AMLI: ACPI BIOS is attempting to read from an illegal IO port address (0xcfc), which lies in the 0xcf8 - 0xcff protected address range. This could lead to system instability. Please contact your system vendor for
technical assistance.
Nach einigen Stunden Nachforschung im Netz habe ich folgende Informationen über diesen Fehler bei Mircosoft gefunden:

Der Fehler ist bei Microsoft bekannt. Es liegt anscheinend an den neuen ACPI Spezifikation von WindowsXP und dem Motherboard BIOS. Microsoft empfiehlt den Motherboard Hersteller zu kontaktieren und auf die URL: http://www.microsoft.com/HWDEV/Onnow/BIOSAML.htm hinzuweisen.
Ich denke das heißt - auf eine neuen BIOS zu warten.

Habe des öfteren die gleiche Meldung mit 900er P III. Das BIOS (Medion) habe ich zwar schon mal upgedatet, ist aber auch schon ca 4 Jahre alt; glaub kaum, dass die noch mal was nachschieben. Hatte jetzt, nach Installation von DSL über WLan mehrere Totalabstürze mit BlueScreen - danach war die einzige Fehleranzeige in der Ereignisanzeige/System eben der Hinweis auf das ACPI BIOS. Was für Folgen hattest du? Eine andere Lösung gefunden mittlerweile ?
